Shopping online has become popular for several reasons. First, it helps you avoid crowds, which is particularly helpful during a pandemic. Second, it lets you find the best deals quite quickly. Third, you can save on transportation costs, which is essential with gas becoming so expensive. And fourth, online shopping is incredibly convenient, as you can do it from the comfort of your couch.
While you may be used to shopping online for clothes, electronics, and other items, you can also do it for groceries nowadays. And if you have an EBT card since you’re a food stamp recipient, you can now use those benefits to get groceries delivered to your door.

Using EBT For Grocery Delivery
We’ll jump into which stores accept EBT for grocery deliveries in a minute. But first, let’s discuss some important things to remember, so you stretch the value of each dollar.
When using EBT to pay for grocery deliveries, those food stamps can only be applied to the purchase of eligible items. So, while you can use your EBT card to pay for meat, milk, eggs, etc., that you purchase online, you will have to use another form of payment to take care of the delivery fees or tips. This is the rule with most stores, so keep it in mind when shopping online.
With any delivery fees coming out of your pocket, it makes sense to consolidate your orders. In other words, make a list of what you need and shop once to get it delivered, versus chopping it up into various deliveries that’ll rack up unnecessary fees.
Stores That Accept EBT For Online Grocery Delivery
While the list of stores that accept EBT for grocery delivery may seem short at the moment, it should grow over time. So if you don’t see your favorite store listed or you’re in a state that’s excluded, be patient and keep checking for updates.
Walmart
Unless you live in Arkansas, Alaska, Louisiana, Maine, or Montana, you can use your EBT card for grocery deliveries from Walmart. If you are in one of those states, you may be able to use food stamps to shop online and do curbside pickup in the meantime.
Amazon
You can now use food stamps to buy EBT-eligible items from Amazon. When shopping via the online marketplace, look below the price of items you’re interested in. If you see “SNAP EBT eligible,” you should be good to go.
Instacart
Perhaps the best way to make use of your food stamps for online grocery deliveries is through Instacart. The delivery service now accepts EBT as payment for deliveries from several stores, such as Piggly Wiggly, Publix, ALDI, Food Lion, Save Mart, Hannaford, Market Bistro, Market 32, FoodMaxx, Lucky Supermarkets, and Price Chopper. Act fast, and Instacart will give you free deliveries on your first three EBT orders over $35.
